Religion Collection

Indiana University Press has played an important role in the study of the religious traditions of North America, the literature of the Bible, and the philosophy of religion. (For publications in the last area, please see the Philosophy collection elsewhere on this site.) Our series Religion in North America, under the editorship of Stephen J. Stein and Catherine L. Albanese, has been recognized by the American Academy of Religion for its important contributions to the study of the historical development of religion and current place of religious life and thought in the United States, Canada, and Latin America. Recipient of a number of awards from the Society of Biblical Literature, the series Indiana Studies in Biblical Literature publishes cutting-edge exegeses of biblical texts using the methods of contemporary literary analysis.

IU Press continues to encourage religious studies scholarship across a wide range of subjects including new religious movements, science and religion, and religion in American culture and society.
