Philosophy Collection

Indiana University Press is a leading publisher of books and journals in American philosophy, Continental philosophy, environmental philosophy, feminist philosophy, and the philosophy of religion. Many of our titles have been selected as Choice Outstanding Academic Books and many others have been singled out by philosophical societies and associations for their excellence. In the Continental tradition, our distinguished lists are broad ranging in scope but focus in particular on nineteenth-century German idealism through classical phenomenology and existentialism, hermeneutics, and deconstruction, to current philosophical developments. Our publications in American philosophy aim to advance the plural traditions of American thought and culture especially as it addresses new issues and global problems. Works in the philosophy of religion foster critical reflection on religious beliefs and the religious dimensions of the world in which we live. New publications in environmental philosophy, feminist philosophy, and world philosophies expand the terrain of philosophical inquiry and interrogate issues of concern to thoughtful readers.
